We, that are Ulli Bobinger and Barbro-Isabel Bruhns with our daughters
Mara and Inga, are living in the Algarve since April 1999.
Before we came to Portugal, we have lived in Namibia - in Southern Africa. Our relationship to Africa you will recognise in some items of decoration
in the holiday house. Now we are living in Almargens which is in the country side of the small town Sao Bras de Alportel. Faro, and therewith the airport, are 25 km away (about 30 - 40 Min of drive). It is about the same distance to the nearest beaches. To Lisbon it takes about 3 to 4 hours of driving. |

Our premises include 5.600m of land, on which you find our house (an
old farm house with a new extension), a garage, a beautiful swimming pool
and the holiday house. We also set up a nice garden which will be
developed further over the years to come. Apart from us there are
two cats living with us on the premises.
Apart from some typical "country-side noise" it is rather peaceful and quiet around here. There is no busy road near by. About ten minutes on foot you find the 'Café Manta' with a small shop, where one can buy daily fresh bread, among other things. Other shopping facilities are to be found in Sao Bras, about 4 km away. The area of Sao Bras is well known for it's unpolluted air which is the reason for the existence of a sanatorium very close to our house. Apart from this, Sao Bras is famous for it's cork-production. Just a few meters from here you can find a forest with many cork oaks and see the changing colours of their bark after the cork has been harvested. |
